Details: Trackers and hunters up in the Kellen Mountain Range have started to find massive tracks, foot prints of a creature to large to be any normal animal. They tracks occasionally come down into the plains, but always return up into the snowy mountains. No one quite knows what these tracks are, but whoever made them is big, and fast. Shinobi are being sent up into the mountains to locate these tracks and hopefully identify what has been making them. (You can not find the actually culprit in these missions, just the tracks)
The blistering heat of the desert quickly dwindled and became more temperate eventually freezing as he came closer to his desired destination. The Kellen plains and mountain range were blanketed in snow so much so that its normal earthen nature made the landscape appear mottled. The temperature of the area dropped significantly lower than it should have been normally but whatever was causing the natural phenomena. Very few endemic life seemed present here in what should have been a lovely place. Something must have the animals spooked, and unwilling to be seen still, this was Gen's second foray out into the plains to investigate the matter of the tracks, bringing Arashi with him now.
Gen and Arashi had been sent on a mission that had two tasks. They were to find any additional information about what had caused the sudden environmental changes that were out of season, and the nature of the giant tracks that had spread all over this region leading to somewhere unknown as of yet. The origin of the steps were also at question as whatever had made them was large and fast, completely unlike anything that was supposed to be endemic to this area. Previously Gen had set up a base camp on one of the cliff faces nearby and he was taking Arashi to his forward camp to help him survey the area more.
He was wearing clothing meant for colder environments over his standard attire as he ventured out into the unknown. A climbing axe in both hands, with pitons on his feet, he would start to scale the cliff facing that had held his forward camp up above. Looking over to Arashi he spoke with a chuckle, " Definitely not like home huh? This place is both mystifying and chilly!", he would laugh boisterously as he continued the climb upwards, arriving at the summit of his base camp, undisturbed by his time away from it.
His camp was simple and consisted of a ringed fire pit, a large tent, and a wood pile. The ground had been cleared so it was flat and even throughout the area in a large twelve meter circle. If one looked over the edge of the cliff and below they would see that the valley was truly breathtaking down below, frozen gullies and streams, snow blanket plains, and a silent breathtaking atmosphere, as the sound of nature was vacant from these lands.
