"It’s You and Me and Our Time Now!”
“Don’t let Me Down!”
There was a particular mission that had come in overnight. It was one that was personally requested of a certain villager.
The moment Hikari Usagi would have read the scroll sent from the Moon Village, specifically written in braille, his mouth had that frown on his face. Nonetheless, he would set out to meet the client that afternoon as he would make the most uneasiest of tracks within the sand. His shimmering blue jewels as useless as they were, would remain closed off behind frustrated lids and a furrowed brow. His feet were guided by a Hare Hand with keen vision to guide him through the expanse of stone structures and bits of sand that covered the area until finally he was standing before the area where the client wanted to meet.
As usual, he expected this kind of trivial behavior…
The expanse of the cliffs and caverns had a particular spot where Earthen spring water would escape into a formation of rocks that would cascade from one pool to the next. Eventually, they would pour into the nearby channels in the caverns of the Infinite Canyons. It was a well known hot springs for most, but a certain party was interested in using it for their own purposes after paying a hefty sum to the Sun Village for the sake of leisure. It left Hikari to act as a guard along with a higher ranked Shinobi that had been unnamed. Not good with leaders or being controlled as by nature, Hikari had a weary feeling about the shinobi that was to meet him, but yet he would sit on the moist stone of the jade caverns thinking about bigger issues.
“Sojiro-san is...not well.” Hikari’s eyes would close as he sat there ruminating about the previous two days. “He has not rested. I can see it...even without eyes.” It had been several days since their search for the kidnapped children had yielded no results. In fact, it only caused concern as the Wolf shinobi, someone so proud of himself and his strength, had not given up and yielded little rest. Hikari knew his heart was in the right place, but that was his weakness: he overdid things and did not look at things with a fresh pair of eyes.
“Perhaps...there is something I can do.”
Hikari was doing so little. At least...it felt like it. Even now as the client had been nearby, splashing in the springs with every movement with the party that was bathing and chattering among themselves, the rabbit had ignored them. The nearby cart that was wheeled into the cave with possessions seemed to be immobile, and the cavern’s opening was left unattended as it only took Hikari a rimshot of his ears to detect anyone coming in and out within the echoing tunnels. Therefore, he would simply sit and think, not even remembering that another shinobi was to come and aid his efforts.
