“Can you tell me something about this, father?” she would ask first her family. She never really liked having conversations with her parents except serious ones or ones that were unavoidable. They were sitting in the living room enjoying tea when the topic of the murders came up. Ami saw him shake his head. “There’s very little we know right now. We just know that they happen every other week or so and usually at night time” She would try and find more around the village. The best way to do that, she assumed, was to look at the crime scenes. Ami would spend the next week out of her house, looking for any clues. She decided to go to the administration building, to ask about where the last of the bodies were found, with one body being sound just that morning apparently. She learned that it was found at the Sobek River Basin. She decided to go and check it out. The Hyuuga would arrive at the scene of the crime with somewhat of a horrific sight.
The Sobek River Basin was not a spot she usually found herself, since it led to the jungle, which she was not too fond of. She arrived at the scene, looking at the amount of blood. Most of the blood was being washed away by the lashing currents of the river, but enough of it was left behind around the body to make her shiver a little. She walked closely towards the body, that of a young man a little older than herself she presumed. He was lying there with his eyes wide open, a shocked expression still remaining on his now icy cold face. Ami studied his body carefully, careful not to touch it. She could see numerous wounds, with one wound especially deep to his abdominal area. She couldn’t quite figure out if the wounds were made from the same weapon but she could tell that the man had suffered. From just what she could, she could see at least twenty cuts on his arms, legs and face. Whoever did this hated the boy a lot or had some extreme grudges.
But what alarmed her the most was the painted A across his body. She could tell that the A was not from the man’s blood, a rather light colour. She couldn’t understand what it meant and would ask some of the police officers who were now coming to the area about it. She was told that all the bodies that had been found recently all had the same A painted across their bodies but found in different places. It was strange indeed…The girl walked around the terrain, looking for any more clues. She saw some footprints, many of them scattered in different directions. Were they made at the time of the murder, or was it coincidence? The footprints led towards the jungle area. She could tell that there were not just one pair of footprints. Could this crime have been committed by a group? If so, how many? She would continue to raise these questions as she followed the footsteps into the jungle.
There was only one way to find out.
