“So, there will be fourteen students today. They are second year academy students. I know you are a Taijutsu user, but what do you have planned for them?” Good thing she had done her homework, so to speak. “I’ll be teaching them Kage Bunshin jutsu. I remember when I learned it, it was with a Genin. It was a fun jutsu to learn especially with a partner.” Her teacher nodded his head, obviously satisfied with her answer. Ami made her way to the training grounds, which was somewhat like a large gymnasium with wooden flooring. It was the size of a baseball field. She would walk into the familiar room, remembering the times when she was a student there, and suddenly it brought back so much memories. Ami was greeted by young academy students, all between the ages of eight and ten. They were so young, and so cute. After a simple introduction, she would begin with the lesson.
“Okay everyone, what are the important things when you learn a jutsu?” she asked the class. A boy would raise his hand and answer with the word chakra. Yes, that was true. “Anything else?” another girl would raise her hand and say handseals. “Exactly. You need to both of those things, well done.” The young girl would smile at them warmly, praising them for speaking up. “Okay, now I’m going to teach you Kage Bunshin jutsu. It is simple. You are going to make a clone of yourself but not a real clone, just an illusion. This will help you in battle, especially if you are facing a strong opponent. You can divert the attention of your opponent with your clones.” She explained, hoping that her explanation was not too difficult to understand.
“Now, spread out and look carefully.” She waited for the students to stand up and spread out. She moved to the centre of the room, so that everyone could get a chance to see the handseals that she was performing. She did them once slowly, stopping after every handseal to ask the students which animal it was. It was like a test, but it would help them remember the sequence. Ninjutsu techniques were all about handseals and when she was a student, she had a hard time remembering which handseal came first and what came after. The girl would close her eyes briefly to concentrate. Ami hadn’t done this jutsu in a while, having almost forgotten about it after becoming a Genin. It was good practice for her as well. She would finish the sequence of handseals and two clones of herself would appear to her right. The students watched in surprise, chattering to one another. “See? It’s not difficult. Now it’s your turn. Don’t worry if you don’t get it the first time. I’ll come around and help.”
And with that, the Hyuuga would go around helping each student, starting with the handseals. Some students were a little more advanced and were able to do it quite easily, while others struggled. She recalled that she was one of the struggling ones when she was a student, and took extra care and patience to teach them until they got it. By the end of the lesson, all the students were able to make two identical clones of themselves. Not bad…not bad at all. She would end her lesson by complimenting them on their successes and wishing them the best in their shinobi life. Although not at all a good teacher, she enjoyed this change of pace, enjoyed being able to enlighten fresh minds and lead by example.
"You all did a great job today! Please remember what you learned and practice at home in your free time!"
