    Mission Info:
    Name: Protection Detail
    Rank: A-Rank
Participants: Moon Village, Sun Village, Missing Ninja
    Type: Group Mission
    Reward: 65 EXP, 40 Ryo
    Location: Outside of a village
Details: You are tasked with defending a influential or significant person. It could be a merchant, a diplomat from another region or just someone who is highly valued. They have asked for a security detail to protect them as they enter through a region's border; protection could be from bandits, wild animals or rogue criminals attempting to steal their goods. This mission is a success if the individual has been safely escorted to their destination.
Requirements: Each person must make at least six posts, totaling to 2400 WC.

The heat in the air was starting to die down as the sun set. Kannagi  had been assigned to complete a mission with a shinobi from the Moon village, a woman called Ami. She wasn't certain, and wouldn't be until she saw her with her own blue eyes, but the kunoichi recalled the woman which she faced after the fight for the bijuu. The woman hoped that her former opponent would make an even better ally and that she would not hold a grudge for the fight that they had gone through together. The sun shinobi approached the outside of the mansion in the business district, hoping for an easy protection detail job. The merchant himself, Hak Imagoto, was well known for both business savvy and paranoia. It was probably the reason why he had gone to both villages for protection of his son. The streets that were once filled with families excited for the sugary treats and varieties of rides had given way to folk music, glowing lanterns, and adult couples and friends exploring through the rides and drinking their weights in celebratory liquor. The music in the air carried down by the wind to the front of the mansion and the lovely strings of lights made the sunset all the more beautiful.

Kannagi breathed in deep, wearing her usual shinobi gear and clothing. She wasn't bothered or entranced by the festival down the path; she was on a job, a mission. Her concerns made her stoic and focused on the activity at hand. She knocked on the mansion's great white door and it opened without a single sound. Standing in the doorway was an over-dressed overweight man in a suit, bulging around his curves with gold buttons and a red tie. Behind him, with a wave of his clunky hand, the man gave an introduction, "You're early," He started to complain, and then added, "I am Hak Imagoto. This is my son, Haku. He is heading to an important business meeting tonight at the Inn through the festival. It will be up to you and your partnered shinobi to protect him through the frivolities of the common man and ensure he returns to me safely." Behind the merchant stood a gangly young man in a suit. It fit him much better than his father, but he looked restrained in it. He wore red framed glasses, had dark brown trimmed hair, and not so much as a single hair above or below his lips. The merchant's son had to be around 18 or 19 years old, but his blue eyes carried intelligence and a focus that reminded Kannagi of his father.

All they needed now was for Ami to appear and then they would be on their way. It was to be a very simple mission. Take the young man to his meeting and bring him home in one piece. The young man offered Kannagi his hand in a simple shake and greeted her, "I'm Haku. What's your name?" Kannagi offered him a smile and returned the proper and polite hand shake as his large father took a few paces back into the mansion, complaining again of more work that needed to be completed. "Call me Kannagi," the kunoichi answered while they stood in the doorway, the merchant leaving the two of them alone. "I am positive my partner will arrive any second. I am early, I know." Haku nodded and met her blue eyes with his own blue gaze, "Not a problem. I'm not in as much a rush as my father."

Nikkousato...such a hot and humid place to live, Ami would think to herself as she passed through the village gates, waving her mission scroll in the faces of the village guards that only bowed and gave her entry. She hadn't been here in a long time, a good few weeks at least, having been tied up with missions from her own village and the bijuu. Right...the bijuu...she had almost forgotten about the fight that she had fought in without even knowing why she had been fighting in it. Of course, the end result was the most important and she had lost to Kannagi, a blue haired Sun shinobi, if her memory served her correctly. Ami was neither bitter nor angry at the idea, merely dissatisfied with her own performance in the fight. No matter, what was done was done, and there was no use for her to dwell on the past. To compensate she had changed her appearance entirely, as Kannagi would find when they meet. Her green strands would be replaced with light pink ones and her eyes would have blue contacts to hide her Byakugan. Although not intentional, she did think it was better for her not to reveal her kekkei gekkai to everyone and anyone she met.

She would make her way slowly to the mansion of her client, a wealthy businessman that apparently had requested the assistance of both villages to protect his son. It seemed rather weird that he would go through all the trouble of communicating to both villages for the sake of his son but she imagined that the man was only some overprotective parent. Ami didn't mind too much though since not only was she paid for the mission, she was able to get out of her village with a legitimate reason. One could take only so much of her compound and the people living in it. Her blue eyes scanned the streets as she turned towards the business district. There seemed to be a festival going on, with the music, people and smell of food lingered in the air. She wasn't one too keen for festivities, the idea of mingling with people made her uneasy. She wasn't always like that though, remembering her earlier shinobi days when she wanted nothing more than to make friends. Now it was just...emotionally and mentally draining. The girl would push aside these thoughts as she reached the big mansion, her eyes resting on the figures that were by the door.

It seemed that her partner had got there before her. As Ami walked closer, the blue hair would be the first thing that caught her attention. Kannagi...she thought to herself, making her way closer to the group. She had been on one mission with her and there had been the fight at Kellen Plains, but other than that she knew nothing about the blue haired woman. Perhaps she would get the chance to get to know her better this time around, seeing that it was just them and their client. She would get to the door just as the overweight suited man went back inside the house and she heard Kannagi and Haku exchange introductions. Clearing her throat so that they both could acknowledge her presence she would walk up them. "I apologize for being late. Hyuga Ami from Gekkousato." she would bow a little before giving him and then Kannagi a smile..

Kannagi heard the woman clear her throat and glanced to see a woman with pink hair. She looked back at Haku and then immediately back at the female once more. The face was indeed familiar, enough that even before the kunoichi introduced herself Kannagi recognized it as Ami. The hair was different to an extreme and she couldn't help but notice the female still looked nice in a different bright color. Maybe she had changed it for fun, or maybe she had changed it as a dramatic symbol for internal changes. Kannagi gave her a nod and a smile as well and Haku changed his direction to Ami. He gave her a bow that was obviously a move he had done many times in his life. He offered an arm out to her and gave her a sly smile that looked almost silly on his youthful face, "Nice to meet you, Ami. Please, escort me to my meeting then, if you will?" The blue haired woman exchanged a look with Ami, noting his sudden change in formality upon her presence. She cleared her throat this time and caught Haku's attention. "Let's move quickly, shall we? Don't want you to be late."

As they escorted him down the street the sound of music got louder. The sound of several flutes bounded up and over each other like butterflies swirling around each other. Accompanying the wind instruments were the echoing sounds of strumming, like many guitars and lutes competing and yet complimenting the rest of the cacophony. By the time that the small group had reached the Inn to get Haku to his meeting, they had passed several groups of people adorned in festival wear. Paying no attention to the three of them, the groups wore masks, glittering bracelets, and various brightly colored kimonos in silk and cotton, like streaking flags or artistic paintings. Haku slowed down outside of the Inn to stare and frowned at the door. His hand rested on the door's curved handle and his eyes closed. "Are you all right, Haku?" Kannagi implored placing a hand on his shoulder with concern. He didn't answer quickly and the blue eyed woman looked to Ami wondering what they ought to do. The man pursed his lips, taking in a breath and exhaling before he turned to face the two women once more. "I thought I would have a chance to ditch this meeting and see the festival. You two are too good at your jobs, so I must try to convince you with my charms." He waggled his eyebrows and gave a smirk, to which Kannagi answered with a blank expression of confusion and surprise.

"I've never been to a festival before. I have seen the lights, heard the music from a distance, but I have never gone,"
Haku explained wistfully. His playful smile left his face and he sounded genuinely sad. "My father didn't want anything common to deter my manners or distract me from learning the business." He inhaled deeply again, Kannagi taking notice that he must have been smelling the street foods. "What is that amazing smell...?" He asked aloud. Kannagi bit her lip and looked up at the Inn. She looked back to Ami and put her hands out in concession. She mouthed to the other shinobi, knowing that both of their careers depended on what got back to the merchant man after this mission, 'What do you want to do?'

Ami wouldn't be surprised at Kannagi's reaction to her sudden change of hair colour. In fact, she had received her fair share of stares from people in her own village that it didn't phase her at all. She would return the bow Haku gave her, not forgetting her manners. The escort mission seemed simple enough and if she remembered correctly, Kannagi was strong and she could probably hold her own front in the mission alone. If the wealthy man hadn't been this paranoid to request the assistance of two shinobi, Ami was certain the other girl would and could do this herself. Pushing the thought away, she would respond a little softly, "The pleasure is mine. But we should get going if we want to make it to your meeting." Apparently Kannagi shared the same wavelength as she said something along the same lines. Ami would flash her a small smile, appreciating that she understood.

As they walked down the street, the sound of music would fill their ears. It would become more apparent and louder as they continued. The sound of flutes, guitars and festivities were enough to make even the most non social person want to get in on the excitement. Ami had never been to a festival, contrary to popular belief. The Hyuuga clan had a strict rule that those within the main family, the high class as they so discreetly called themselves, were not allowed to do anything that would tarnish the reputation of the clan. Even her changing her hair colour had been subject to weeks of debate from her elders. So she never had the chance to participate or even see the festivals, except the annual fireworks festival from the safety of her room. The girl didn't quite know how to react to festivities, her body language speaking more than any actual words could. Her body tensed a little as they maneuvered through the crowds of artistic people, reaching the inn and no time at all.

"I've never been to a festival before. I have seen the lights, heard the music from a distance, but I have never gone."

Ami's eyes went straight to Haku as he uttered the words, his hand at rested on the inn door as he struggled to tell them his real intentions. She shared that sentiment, understanding more than anyone else perhaps what he longed to do. She empathized with him greatly, recalling how she had wanted for such a long time to feel the festive air herself. Her eyes would meet that of her partner's, and reading her lips, the Hyuuga would understand that she too empathized with the man. Ami thought long and hard for a moment, closing her eyes before reopening them, the expression on her face held the seriousness that she felt behind the words she would say to the man. "The festival just started. I'm sure your meeting won't last forever..." her voice trailed off as she too smelled the delicious street food and realized how hungry she actually was. "If you go to your mission and finish as fast as you can, we can stop by the festival before taking you home. How does that sound?" She was speaking to both of them now, her eyes glancing to Kannagi again to look for some kind of confirmation.

Bring Him Back In One Piece Empty Re: Bring Him Back In One Piece

Post by Kannagi on Wed Aug 05, 2020 9:53 pm

Kannagi let out an audible sigh this time, observing that the man she was sent to protect was hoping to skip out on his meeting altogether for some fun in the local carnival activities. She couldn't blame him; since she had arrived in Nikkousato four years ago, the woman looked forward to the festivals and their colors and music every year. It was as close as she could get to the old grandiose feasts and reunions the Irezumi family had going on biannually. The crowds didn't bother her, nor did the lines, but she had never tried a carnival ride before. She thought she would look too lonely riding the swings without a partner to hold hands with or going upon the huge elaborate carousel without a friend or child of her own to bring out her inner youth. Yet, abandoning a mission from such a notorious client could bring Ami and herself a world of hurt. Especially now that she was ranked a chuunin, it would be preposterous to do so. When she had turned her blue eyes upon the pink haired kunoichi by her side, she had expected to find firm support, and instead the girl's own insinuations hid a plea for Kannagi to allow them all to have a bit of excitement this night. The blue haired female sighed again, releasing her firm resolve and gestured to the door defeated. "Complete your meeting swiftly or your father's suspicions will be aroused," She gave Ami and Haku a tense and uncertain smile, though Haku hardly seemed to notice.

His back straightened to a perfect posture and suddenly his face took upon the expression of a fierce businessman instead of a rebel teenager. "I won't let you fail the mission in the face of Imagoto Textiles. You have my word as a man, I shall not let my request be to your ruin." Kannagi looked like she had been slapped in the face hard enough for her cheeks to flush in perplexed and sudden surprise. The man hadn't given her an air of competence and yet his language and demeanor abruptly commanded respect. When he gave them an easy lopsided grin, winking in Ami's direction, Kannagi's mouth closed. She collected herself, feeling embarrassed by how obvious her shock was. The finishing wink and smirk steeled the image of a chameleon in her mind and Haku vanished into the Inn leaving both of the women outside of the doors. A high pitched vocal melody like birds in flight joined by a pair of fiddles caught Kannagi's ears and she turned to the sound, surely just around the corner or the one after that. The song was about dance, as so many songs were, and the cheering and clapping of hands gave the kunoichi a beat to nod her head to. She shook her head and looked over at the Moon Shinobi. "I trust that there is no animosity between us, despite the way that fight in the snow completed. I have only respect for you, Hyuuga."

Kannagi decided in the light atmosphere while they waited for the briefing inside the building to finish made for a good opportunity to be sure that the shinobi were both on the same side. "Were you honest when you told Haku that you hadn't ever been to a festival?" It sort of astonished her that someone of Gekkousato might not have been to a festival prior; such a colorful and beautiful place was bound to have festivals that had rivaled the ones she had seen in Nikkousato itself without much effort. Kannagi, who had left her family and home amongst the nomadic Irezumi in the desert and plains, had only been a part of the Sun Village for four years. And even in so little a time, the aromas of food and the sounds of music had lured her into every festival she had the time to visit. Then again, her tiny studio apartment over the teahouse wouldn't have done much to block out the noise or the bright lights if she hadn't wanted to go in the first place.

it was nice to know that Kannagi shared the same train of thought. Of course, Ami knew what failing a mission meant, especially as a Gekkousatou shinobi, it was hardly something easily forgivable to fail on a joint mission in the other village. And to add to the matter, she wouldn't fail because of her inabilities or inadequacies as a shinobi, but simply because she wanted to be kind and empathized with Haku. She trembled at the thought of it even getting remotely to the ears of the elders of her clan, already imagining in her head what they would say. It seemed rather absurd for her to entertain the idea of going with the man that was supposedly her client to a festival, but in the back of her mind she knew that she had her own selfish reasons. Ami had longed to go to a festival, ever since she was young. When she was young, she would tell white lies to her friends whenever they gathered together to go to festivals, saying that she was busy with her studies or training. And then from there she never quite recovered, so it seemed, longing for a friend to go with her to one for once. Of course she could have asked Keiji but he didn't seem like the festival type, and going with girls dressed in a yukata or something traditional had been somewhat her dream.

The girl would be slightly taken aback by Haku's very serious and formal tone, recognizing that underneath his frail and incompetent appearance, his language showed a mind otherwise. Looking over to Kannagi, she could see her give the same reaction, perhaps the same line of thought had crossed the blue haired shinobi's mind as well. It merely showed how appearances could be deceiving and in some ways dangerous if one was not careful. As the man turned to enter the inn for his meeting, she would start to relax a little more, the idea that at least he had gone in had somewhat relieved her. What came after would be something to think about and worry later. At least they would have a few ideas, even though long and gruesome. "I trust that there is no animosity between us, despite the way that fight in the snow completed. I have only respect for you, Hyuuga." came Kannagi's voice all of a sudden. So she had remembered their bijuu fight, the girl thought to herself. Well, it was a fight that wouldn't easily be forgotten, she presumed. Ami had fallen in the hands of the other woman, had realized her incompetence as a shinobi and had been trying hard to change that fact. Her change in appearance had spawned from that fight...Ami let out a small smile, her eyes slightly absent-minded as she turned to her partner. "Likewise, and please, call me Ami." She dislike people addressing her by her family name and if they were truly to become something like friends, calling each other's name would be a start.

At the question of whether she had been serious about never going to a festival before, the Hyuuga would only look to the ground and nod. She was not ashamed of this fact, but rather saddened that to so many people it was so unbelievable. After a moment's silence, Ami would say, her eyes not looking at Kannagi, but instead staring at the pavement. "Our clan has strict rules..." she began, her voice above a whisper, "Sometimes I wish I wasn't born into a prestigious clan..." she let her sentence trail off, not realizing that she had actually said what she had said. Her mind was momentarily preoccupied by the prospect that if fate had dealt her a normal hand, she would probably be able to taste a little of the freedom and simplicity of life that she had never been given. Realizing that she may have said too much, Ami would add, her eyes now traveling to meet the other girl. "What about you, Kannagi. I know very little about you..." she had always been intrigued by the sun shinobi, knowing only her combat strength but nothing else. She wanted to know more, wanted to finally make a girl friend for once.

Bring Him Back In One Piece Empty Re: Bring Him Back In One Piece

Post by Kannagi on Sun Aug 09, 2020 7:33 pm

It was more than simply positive that Ami had no sour feelings for her, at least none she claimed to have, and encouraged Kannagi to use her first name and put formalities aside. Kannagi relaxed a degree or two, noting the woman before her did not know and now would not ask of her her own surname, connected to her clan family in the desert. Usually the blue haired kunoichi stuck to using only her first name in introductions to avoid questions or uncomfortable emotions from rising up within a general conversation. Ami's desires coalesced with her own and it made her feel as comfortable as Sojiro had at work in the clinic. Names didn't matter, actions did.

Still, she was a bit surprised to find that the Hyuuga were so exclusive and proper in their ways that they forbade their children from having fun, seeking social connection regardless of financial means or clan standing within the ninja world. It seemed ironic that those with such a particular vision would not see the wisdom or advantage in such things. Kannagi's family was certainly traditional and strict, but they dissolved all manner of respect based on financial means. Within the Irezumi, showcasing your wealth was something you did to showcase your generosity, the ideas of equality amongst all people in the family as strong as their ideals for gender roles as a supporting factor. It wasn't that men and women weren't equal in respect as it was that each side respected that the other had a different job to do. Kannagi had hated that.

Ami bemoaned her station and Kannagi couldn't disagree with why. She rubbed the back of her neck and then strained her short blue locks through her fingertips as a sign of anxiety: the only sign. Of course, Kannagi always looked put together and well composed. She tilted her head and answered Ami, "I grew up in a strict home as well. Sometimes, the new generation needs to explore change and evolve on their own terms. I think visiting a festival is harmless enough, I hope you would not feel guilty in attending with Haku and I tonight. I'll make sure to keep you both protected and comfortable." Then a mischievous smile came over her features, "Try not to lose at all the games tonight, then you truly would bring shame to the Hyuuga." Kannagi let out a laugh and leaned her back against the Inn's outer wall. She could hear and feel movement inside of the building, a soft murmuring that indicated a meeting going on behind the closed doors. When she turned back to Ami, the girl asked her a question which seemed innocent but was a challenge for Kannagi to reply to. Most would at least offer information on how or where they grew up, what their family was like, or if they spent their childhood in a clan or in the city streets. Kannagi decided to express something personal, but not related to any of that.

"I have traveled plenty and my survival skills in the desert and plains are in all likelihood, unmatched. I enjoy the travel, and the danger that comes with it. Though, I do not often travel alone. I have a special horse, bred by the Irezumi for fearlessness, endurance, companionship. My dear Cirilla is my oldest friend and has helped me to survive many times. You might like her, if you aren't afraid of horses. She is quite intelligent."

Ami watched Kannagi closely, although not so closely that she came off as staring. The girl remembered the mission she had gone on with the blue haired girl, the first time she had met her and then when they fought for the bijuu experiment. Both times the Hyuuga had been somewhat mystified by the sun shinobi, not because they were complete strangers, but because the girl seemed so...composed. Ami herself was no emotional wreck, at least on the outside, but the composure, confidence and air that Kannagi gave off when they had crossed paths surprised her. And now as they conversed freely the girl would start to notice that the calm and collected woman in front of her was to some degree human as well. This was further exemplified when she saw her brush her fingers through her blue hair, her facial expression distorted ever so slightly. Of course Ami didn't comment nor did she even allow Kannagi to know that she had taken notice. If the other girl wanted to keep that air of calmness up, she would let her.

The pink haired girl couldn't help but smile at her nonchalant comment about not losing in all the games at the festival, especially since she knew full well that an inexperience and uptight person like herself would most likely do just that. Ami smiled meekly, nodding her head as she bit her tongue. There was no need to admit her weaknesses, at least not verbally. This also made her quite intrigued as to what to expect at the festival, having only watched from a distance. She knew that people ate lots of food, gathered around together in groups or as couples, watched fireworks and perhaps played some games. But there was nothing concrete...and she was hoping that Kannagi and Haku could open her eyes to a new world of fun and enjoyment. "Uptight is probably the light word I'd use for the Hyuga clan," she replied after a moment's thought. "having fun just isn't something that was in our ancestry, perhaps." she tried to say with a sarcastic tone, hoping to lighten up the mood.

"I've always wanted a horse!! i hope to get to meet Cirllia one day." The thought of horses made Ami's eyes light up. She loved horses, just never really got a chance to ride on one. Her dream was to have a horse of her own, preferably a white one. Another reason to like this girl, she thought to herself while listening to Kannagi speak of her companion. Ami wanted a combat pet, or just any pet, seeing as she always felt lonely, a weakness that she was unwilling to admit to anyone.
