He had been summoned in the wee hours of the morning to appear at the Hyuugan compound for a training mission between the Hyuuga clan and the Tsuyoiito. He had known that Ami had not spoken of them or their engagement to her clan yet and so he wouldn't be the first to breach it. Wearing all of his normal gear, he would head off towards the home of his love with due haste. He didn't know if he was ready to be collected and unassuming with her, as it was hard to go back on what they shared already, but he knew that it was important that he wait until he had officially met her father and asked him for Ami's hand, before their relationship could be verified with words and actions.
People talked and they were nobles and clan heirs so it was even worse then normal, as the gossip in Gekkousato was insidious and being conspicuous was difficult. However, that also worked in their favor as as most people did not act on the gossip until visual and official confirmation happened, and so far they had played that part well. Becoming anxious as he approached the gates to the compound and was allowed access he would see his father and Ami's grandfather seated amongst other nobles of their clans at a training ring off to the far right side of the compound, the crowd gathered noticeable even from afar. It would seem that according to the crowd at least, the two clans had agreed to elect a member of the main family to fight on the behalf of each clan as a contest of sport. They were to fight to knock out and the winner would take the spoils of a recent raid and present it to the village as if it had come from their own clans efforts. Sitting near his father he would wait for the event to start to see who had been selected to fight for each side.
